Behavioral Issues in Children
Pediatric developmental/behavioral and mental health is one focus area of our practice. Integrative & functional medicine approaches children’s behavioral issues by combining standard therapies with complementary strategies that address diet, body regulation, stress, family dynamics, and the child’s environment.
Some examples of common conditions and modalities in our practice:
- ADHD and Other Behavioral Disorders
For ADHD, integrative approaches include dietary changes, restricted elimination diets, omega‑3 supplements, vitamin B6, zinc, environmental hygiene, and neurofeedback, often alongside standard care.
- Autism and Special Needs
In autism, families commonly use diets, vitamins and other supplements, melatonin, sensory integration, and other complementary-integrative medicine (CIM) to address irritability, aggression, hyperactivity, and insomnia, often due to medication side effects or limits of standard care.
